There you are, diligently taking your probiotics every day. You’re not really sure exactly why you’re taking them but you’ve heard lots of people talk about “good” bacteria and “bad” bacteria and probiotics are the good guys which apparently makes them good for you.

So, off you went to the health food store where you stood in front of eight different brands in the fridge and twelve on the shelf and eventually you bought one even though it cost like forty bucks!

You take it every day but don’t really notice any difference in how you feel.

First, I’m super proud of you for trying to do something amazing for your health!

And probiotics are amazing and you’re absolutely right that they’re incredibly important.

But you probably wasted your money.

Why?

Because you haven’t addressed the real problem here.

Your $40 probiotic is like a super fancy, NASA-astronauts-use-it-Band-Aid that you place on top of a sliver.

Band Aids are great and they serve an important function, but if you don’t take the sliver out first, the Band Aid is pointless – no matter how fancy.

So, what’s the answer? Stop taking probiotics?

No, but probiotics are step three.

  • Step one is removing foods that are causing inflammation and immune system reactions in your gut and removing the “bad” bacteria;
  • Step two is strengthening your digestion so that the bad guys don’t have huge, undigested food particles to feast on.

THEN it’s time to reintroduce the good guys.

Ya gotta take out the sliver before you put on the Band Aid.
